The equinox defines the starting point used to measure the yearly cycle.
That starting point is treated as zero. This zero point is useful because it provides a consistent reference for dividing and tracking the cycle. But that zero does not remain fixed among the stars.
Over long periods, the equinox slowly drifts through the stellar background.
This drift is caused by the gradual change in the direction of Earth’s axis.
The yearly measuring system remains intact even while its stellar backdrop changes.
This is the point at which Pisces at the equinox becomes visible as a historical condition, rather than a permanent rule.
