What this lesson shows

• Signs and houses describe the same sky using two different reference frames.

• Signs are fixed to the yearly solar path and do not move with the observer.

• Houses are fixed to the local horizon and rotate with the observer as Earth turns.

• The signs remain stable while the houses shift continuously through the day.

• The Ascendant marks where the zodiac meets the eastern horizon.

• Using both systems together allows position to be described both globally and locally.
